She's roses... Playing good sport to appease her best friend was one thing, but sophisticated Kim Martin was hardly equipped for a Colorado camping trip. Especially when their mountain guide was a rough-edged cowboy who was as untamed as the wilderness. His outdoors style might jump-start some women but a strictly indoors woman like Kim found him - almost resistible.
He's rawhide... Thad Winchester's patience for city women was wearing as thin as the seat of his jeans. But there was something about Kim that was putting his hard-and-fast don't-touch rule to the test. The plucky blonde was just the woman to share his Flying W. Ranch. All Thad had to do was bring out the wildflower in the refined beauty, and convince her that he was her man. Bar nothing.

My family is outfitters, taking dudes into the "very" area this story is set in, the Colorado High Country. I tend to stay away from cowboy stories because they're usually so filled with errors. This book didn't have any errors that way, in fact, I wondered if the author had taken one of our trips. But...I was offended by the cliche' that all dude horses go "nose to tail". Not so. And not all camp food is artery clogging...The heroine was so accurately portrayed as a spoiled, know-it-all city girl, I thought I'd guided her on about a 1000 trips in my youth. Can you tell I didn't like her one bit?
The hero wasn't much better.
They argued. Constantly. About everything.
Because they were wild about each other.
Really? Ugh.
I'll try something else by this author, but this book left me cold as a night in a sleeping bag spent in the Colorado Rockies.

Rawhide Roses A Colorado Dreamin' Book edition by Maddie James Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
Liked this story very much. Liked the characters and the story itself. It is amazing the road blocks people set up in their life to only realize there is always another route to take.
This was a wonderful story with lots of romance. I enjoyed all of the characters in this story, especially the hero and heroin. The romance was developed so beautifully by the author and I was sad when the story ended.
Definitely a five star rating for this book.
I loved this story and I can fully relate to it. I spent two summers on a Wyoming ranch when I was in high school. It was a working dude ranch. Thad was right on in character. Stern, stoic and to the point. He had a business, he was a horseman. A cowboy. Sometimes the only way to get people to react is by gruffness. He knows his job. While I was a horsewoman, others were not and many I saw related to being "Kim." She might have ridden ponies as a kid but being on a trail in the mountains is an entirely different thing. And yes, whether they know you can ride or not, they put you on the damnest slowest horse until they know you can handle one.
The reviews that Thad needs to learn to talk - I disagree with. Woman love to talk, men do not. It is a way of life. Thad ran a family ranch, dealt with many personalities. Most things get done with less talk.
I loved the picturesque description of the Rockies. The author was right on in putting you directly into the scene. The pack trail ride was all correct. The tents, the cook kitchen, the wranglers ...I thought I was sixty years younger back in the Grand Tetons of Wyoming.
This story is well worth the read.
It’s a good book, but it seems like the sequel to this book is taking forever, so I gave up reading her books. It’s supposed to come out this year at some point.
The characters in the begin sounded great, well written and what not. The plot of the book was there but at the end, I got the feeling the author just wanted to end the book fast. The end of the killed it for me. I hated how the two main characters kept fighting and fighting and making everyone unhappy. The ending kinda sucked for me they finally got together then because the both didnt want to hurt their pride went their separate ways for awhile. I'm a picky reader so I didn't care for the book but maybe some out there will like this kind of book. Good luck.
This was a nice story of two girls from Kentucky who take a trip to Colorado and meet cowboys on a ranch. I like the story very much..it kept me interested because Kim is a ball of fire. The only thing that bothered me was, even though Kim was determined to prove herself to Thad, the story made her seem like a spoiled brat. Also, there were quite a few editing/spelling problems...a few times it seemed text was missing..but there weren't enough mistakes to take away from the book...I also like to have closure in a book..(an epilogue)..If this book had an epilogue,I would have considered giving it 5 stars. I do recommend it.
This was a nice romance. Very touching.
Kim was a city girl that had never been on a horse. Her firend Jillie tricked her into going on a two week trial ride because Jillie has a crush on one of the owner. Kim tries her best with every that is thrown at her. Thad Wichester knows that he doesnt have any time for a city girl like Kim but he cant stop looking at her and he finds that he will really likes that she has a back bone.
Read the story and find how these two try to stay away from each other but in the end can they? Is it really worth it?
